UTAH FILM PROJECT PROMOTES COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Participants Will Make Creative Choices During Film Production; Emerging Musicians Encouraged To Submit Their Signature Single
An upcoming documentary film will bring together DIY projects, flight, community involvement, and original music. The title of this film is Feet On The Ground; Head In The Clouds. The Director is searching for backers to help fund production. Filming will begin in May 2013 and will be shot mostly within the Salt Lake Valley. The film is scheduled for release in February 2014.
Director Brandon Wilhelmsen explains that he is confident the film will be a success. "Whether this film is successful is measured in more than the camera angles and lighting. I want to take my community with me to create something lasting," says Brandon.
The idea for this film project began about five years ago in 2007, when Brandon set out to build a very large kite. Focused on work and school, Brandon allowed the project to sit in the corner and gather dust until this year. With a renewed determination to finish projects that had been abandoned, Brandon knew he wanted to document the project in some way. Photographs alone were not compelling, and then the idea to film the building and flying of the kite came to life. This would become a project larger than he previously imagined.
The community can become involved by backing the film’s Kickstarter project. The community of backers from the Kickstarter project will be voting on what music will be used in the film, as well as other creative decisions. Musicians are also welcomed to begin submitting their signature singles for voting. All genres of music are welcomed, with one caveat: the music must be family friendly. Brandon states, “I want parents to feel comfortable with their children viewing the film.”

Kickstarter Project: Day 11
New rewards, and a need to share the project widely...
I am looking for any help I can get in sharing this project. We have a small following and a few backers, but we still are looking for the groundswell that will make this project successful.

I have added a reward for those who are interested in taking part in the pre-screening of the film, and may not have $250 to back this project with. Take a look! It is limited to the first 100 people to back at $125 or more.
If there are any companies looking for creative advertising, I ask you to take a look at the Corporate Sponsor reward. This one breaks the mold, because it is designed as an avenue for sponsorship of the project, rather than having a creative hand in this film. Companies names and/or logos will appear in the credits of the film, and I will produce an ad for them to be spread online.

Kickstarter Project: Day Seven
Today is my birthday. I have survived 33 years on our bluish-greenish marble of a planet.
I have wanted to make a movie for a long time, and the idea for Feet On The Ground; Head In The Clouds grew out of serendipity. It is time to make this film, and I need your help.
I am busy promoting my Kickstarter Project, which is available for pledges until April 17th, 2013.
Feet On The Ground; Head In the Clouds Feet on the Ground; Head in the Clouds will be a documentary film about making and flying kites and other non-motorized aircraft. It will involve creative input from the community of backers and will help promote emerging musicians.
This project cannot succeed without your help. I am trying to raise $35,000 to gain the professional tools to see my vision through. I am not asking you for money (although if you feel inclined to contribute, go for it); I am only hoping for your time. Anyone interested in spreading the word about my project can do so through any of these channels:

Kickstarter Project: Day Four
Today, we had our first backer become an Armchair Director with a pledge of $50. We are still working to get the word out to enough people to create a groundswell, but I have confidence that will happen and may take us by surprise. This reward includes a film credit, a stressball with the film's logo, a copy of the film on DVD, a t-shirt printed with the film's logo, and the opportunity to help make the creative choices that will make the film truly great.

Kickstarter Project: Day Two
Today's pledge was refreshing, but the limited success the project is finding in its start underscores my relative obscurity. To be successful with this project, I need to get the word out through more channels.
One such channel I would like to share here!
I am aware that the economy has people strapped for cash, and yet, I feel this project is worthwhile and may merit a bit of people's time and investment.
I am holding a contest for anyone willing to help me spread the word and help back my Kickstarter Project.
The reward for this contest is a personalized, signed copy of the film Feet On The Ground; Head In The Clouds on DVD. Normally this DVD would be available only for backing the project at the $20 level or higher. I need your help though, and we need to get people interested and involved.
To be eligible for this contest, two things need to happen:
1) Back my Kickstarter project at $1 or higher
2) Get a minimum of 20 other people to back the project at $1 or higher.
Once the Kickstarter Project has ended with successful funding, I will be asking in a survey how the backers were referred to the project. I will count up the number of people that identify your name, and use that data to verify your eligibility for the reward. There is no limitation to how many people may earn this reward.
I look forward to working together to make this film a reality!

This morning my Kickstarter Project for my documentary, Feet On The Ground; Head In The Clouds officially launched. I am very excited to embark on this adventure, and I hope many of you will join me in creating this film.
